My name is Mariana and I am a 30 years old Portuguese lawyer who decided to go to Brussels to live the "European dream".
I was a trainee in the European Commission in the March 2013 session of the Blue Book traineeship and had the idea of creating this website not only to share tips with future candidates regarding the application process for this traineeship, but also to share a bit of how life is like in Brussels.
Meanwhile, that traineeship has ended, I was back to Portugal for a while, but I went back to Brussels as a trainee again (February 2014), this time in the European Parliament (in the cabinet of a MEP). Although working in Brussels, I was living in Antwerp, so you can read some feedback about life on that city here as well.
Now I am finally back to Portugal, as I got a permanent job here, so this blog is closed. But feel free to contact me for any queries you may have (although check the blog first, as most of them may be already answered here!).
