L'Amour Fou

L'Amour Fou is a restaurant from the same owners of KoKoB, but with a totally different concept: burgers! Indeed, they are the Brussels version of an American diner, striving to offer the best burgers in Brussels (they travelled the US to find the best burger recipe).

The atmosphere is chilled and relaxed: young people, couples and groups just enjoying their night out in a friendly space. This is what we ate:

Quesadillas Italia (tortilla bread, melted cheese, pesto, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, served with guacamole, sour cream and salsa)
Swiss burger (beef patty, mayonnaise, salad cress, button mushrooms, raclette cheese, oyster mushrooms, bacon) and fish burger (deep-fried fish, tartare sauce, salad cress, beetroot, dill, avocado) with chips
Lemon pie with merengue
You don't necessarily need to go there to eat (even though I highly advise you to!), as they're also a cafe/bar and you can just order some drinks (but I doubt you will be able to resist to these goodies passing in front of your eyes). The food is very succulent and tasty, you can really feel the flavour of each fresh ingredient. Pass by there if you're looking for a good place to hang out while munching some substantial food!

Bier Circus

Bier Circus is a bar close to Madou, where you can not only try a big variety of beers, but also eat typical Belgian food (and desserts!). It has a very colorful decoration and the walls are covered with beer capsules, which make the place look very cheerful. We went there in the evening (it is not crowded) and this is what we ordered:

The Chocolate Mousse à la "Chimay Bleue" Trappist Beer
The "Dame Blanche" with Crunchy Speculoos Biscuit Ice Cream and Hot Chocolate and Oude Lambik Girardin  (Sint-Ulriks-Kapelle) beer
The staff was very friendly and the place has a calm atmosphere (the kind of bar you can go with some friends to talk).

Delirium Café

Delirium Café is known for being the biggest beer bar in Brussels. And it is not only big in terms of size (two large floors, one of which underground, that can fit hundreds of people), but also when it comes to the offer of beers (they entered the Guinness book in 2004 for having more than 2.000 different types of beers). Indeed, they have a book that you can look into in the bar or buy for 5€ with a list and a small description of all the beers they have available (not only Belgian beers, but also a huge selection of beers from all over the world). In the most crowded nights, you may just want to stick to the upper floor and try some of the beers they have on tap (and it's nice to see live how they "cut" the beer's foam coming out of the glass). However, in less crowded days (usually during the day it's fine and they are open in the afternoon), you can give your try on going downstairs and trying some of the bottled ones (where you can find all the classics and also some strange ones like the Cookie Beer - which I have tried! - or a coconut one, for example).

The bar is all decorated with beer related motives and is located in the heart of the city (in a dead-end street suggestively called Impasse de la Fidélité). Everyone (beer lovers and not-so-convinces-ones-yet) should pass by there to pay them a visit... even if just for the great beer-overdoses atmosphere!

Moeder Lambic

This weekend I went to a beer tasting event, which took place in Moeder Lambic, organized by the Stage Committee. This bar has the ambiance of the old times, with its long wooden tables, but with a modern twist. We sat around and enjoyed as the waiters were passing by, explaining a little bit about each beer they brought. We tried 4 in total and smelled also a strange one (which smelled like smoked meat). We also ate some food on the meanwhile (various types of cheese, sausages and ham with warm bread). Overall, it was a good experience and we spent some good times there. The waiter was very helpful and he even gave us some restaurants' suggestions! And we got to try some very different beers, artisan and in their "raw" form (a kriek with no sugar added, for example, and you can really taste the difference from the other ones which are artificially sweet).
