  2. Hi Mariana, first of all, thank you very much for this blog it's really useful! I cannot find the calculation of the scores assigned to every field on the application during the preselection procedure. Do you know where I can find it? thanks!

  3. Hello Mariana
    Hope you are doing great.
Do you know anyone from South Asian Countries like India, Bangladesh, Pakistan who has been offered a traineeship or is it mostly the people from European countries? Just wanted to know whether there is a chance or not.

    1. Hello,

For every session there is a contingent for people coming from Third Countries (outside the EU). I have met people from the USA, South Africa and Brazil that got a traineeship through that option. But mostly it's people from EU countries, yes.

If you're really interested, you should apply, as there's always a chance!

      Good luck,
      Mariana

    Olá Mariana,

What a pleasant idea this is: sharing your experiences with present and potential Brussels' newcomers; most especially when the issue is... chocolates at affordable prices!

  6. Hi Mariana,

I was hoping you could help me out with these questions:
    1. what does it mean that you "must have very good knowledge of at least two Community languages, of which one should be one of the working languages of the European Comission"? Does it mean that you have to achieve at least C1 level of language knowledge according to CEFR? Is passing IELTS examination necessary or not?
    2. Is it enough if you speak English language and your mother tongue fluently for an administrative traineeship?
    3. How many languages do other candidates speak?

  7. Hello Mariana,

Thank you so much for the tips and the time you take to respond to all comments.

I have applied for a traineeship and I am now awaiting the results. Just in case i get selected, I would like to ask whether i should start lobbying when i have the first note that i am pre-selected or after i have submitted all the documents that prove my eligibility etc?

Also, as evidence of my work experience I have a reference letter from my former employee which has an older date. Will that be a problem you think and shall i ask maybe my ex boss to give me a new one with the current date?

Thank u so much in advance :)
